Hoping to make it this Sunday. I have been under the weather since I was first there in December. Been a slow road back from this bug. But my experience was VERY positive and I fell in love with the horses, and found Craig in particular very kind and welcoming. And something else-possibly extremely grounding? Kyle, is it? (another board member's youngish son) gave me a tour and was very attentive in his role as self-appointed tour guide. His enthusiasm was delightful. In many others I found kindred spirits and an encouragement for wellness.

I also found a sense of "home" that one doesn't often find and also of peace. I just rambled around and met the people, snacked, loved on the dogs and gave a little Reiki to Sapphire and tried a couple others, but it being dinner time, they were much more interested in chow! Mostly, just soaked up the energy and essence of the place-is that just too woo-woo? I have told many about your special place-even the guy at Costco whose daughter is a vet medicine student or intern and he said he would pass it on to her.

Hoping many wonderful connections are made for Oak Meadows and the horses. This is a goodness that warms the heart to be a part of, if even just a little bit like myself. Thank you for sharing it with those of us that are nutured by the natural world and it's amazing creations.

no words can describe what these wonderful folks did for us. we were forced to downsize and give up our home. we had two horses and no one would take them. we were not asking for any money, we just wanted them to go to a home where they would be treated with love and pampered. we had them for 19 yrs. and they were our only "kids" still home.

I want to start by saying that the couple that own this ranch are amazing and have hearts of gold with all their hard work in much needed horse rescues in this area. I ran across, a few days ago, one of the most extreme cases of neglect and abuse of a horse I had ever seen. It was at night so I immediately came home and emailed the owner's of Oak Meadows Ranch about it and let them know how much this horse needed their help ASAP....I stayed up till 1:30 am worrying about this horse named "Charlie" and what would happen to him if we didn't get over there the next day and rescue him. Charlie had been tied to a fence with a chain for 3 weeks and had been horribly attacked by two pitbulls during this time and had chunks of flesh ripped from him on both sides....he needed help fast. The owner of Oak Meadows bright and early emailed me back and promptly agreed to go rescue poor Charlie as soon as we could that day. Long story short we went and saved him thanks to these wonderful caring people here at this rescue. Charlie practically jumped into to trailer...he knew he was going to a better place! Charlie is very happy now, his wounds have been tended to by a great vet, and he is eating ALOT and enjoying his recovery and new life at Oak Meadows Ranch. Charlie was lucky enough to have Oak Meadows Ranch as his happy ending!
